Privacy Policy

JotMaster ("we", "us") is an Apple Watch app and companion service that records meetings you choose to record, transcribes them, and emails the results to you. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.

What we collect

Email address. Collected and verified during setup. Used to sign you in, deliver your meeting notes, and send verification codes. It is the only account identifier we keep.
Audio you record. When you stop a recording, the audio is uploaded to our servers over HTTPS for processing. We do not store the audio or the transcript on our servers after your email is sent — the recording also remains on your watch until you delete it.
Usage metadata. We store per-meeting metadata (duration, token counts, processing cost, timestamps) to enforce plan limits and operate the service.
Subscription status. We receive purchase receipts from Apple to activate your plan. We never see your payment details — Apple handles all payment processing.

Who processes your data

OpenAI — transcribes your audio and generates summaries via API. Per OpenAI's API terms, API data is not used to train their models.
Resend — delivers our emails to you.
Fly.io — hosts our servers (US region).
Apple — payment and subscription management.

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.

Your recordings and other people

You are responsible for complying with applicable recording-consent laws in your location and obtaining consent from meeting participants where required.

Retention & deletion

Account data and usage metadata are retained while your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, email noah97carpenter@gmail.com from your registered address; we will confirm deletion within 30 days. Recordings stored on your watch are under your control and deletable in the app.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). API keys and tokens are stored as managed secrets. No system is perfectly secure; report concerns to the email above.

Children

JotMaster is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated effective date.
